DESCRIPTION At A-1, we wouldn’t be the industry leader without our successful sales team. We are seeking a qualified Sales Specialist to help us sell the products and services that help improve people’s lives. Our ideal salesperson has a strong understanding of the sales process and excels at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. We are seeking a quick learner with strong listening and negotiating skills, and someone with presence who can showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations, attending networking events, and participating in trade shows, it is essential that our salesperson be approachable and professional. If selected, your efforts will help us extend our market reach and impact.

Building trusses is just a small part of what we do.  We take on any challenge with our customers, no matter what it is and work closely with our Design and Estimating team to provide the optimal solution in each case. We pride ourselves on transforming apprentices into skilled specialists and technicians of the highest caliber.

General Job Description

The sales of fabricated roof and floor trusses and components and related supplies or services

Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market

Focuses on the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values

Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients

Objectives of this Role

Represent our company, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings

Maximize the sales performance by establishing strong relationships and gaining insight to the needs and lifestyle of the customer

Meet weekly, monthly and annual sales and activity quotas

Generate leads and commit to customer service by building relationships

Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field

Perform incisive and insightful market and competitive research

Skills and Qualifications

Excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone, and organizational skills

Ability to analyze business opportunities and read situations well

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

3-5 years in sales within an interpersonal sales setting

Ability to travel at least 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Proven success rate at levels above quotas

Strong organizational skills

Strong knowledge of building materials products (especially commodities) and lumber.

Experience closing enterprise level deals

Compensation

Annual Bases Salary commensurate with experience
